Botanical Dye Print Workshop Description

Join textile artist Nadene Mairesse of Idyllwilde to explore natural dye and eco printing processes to design a beautiful, botanical printed bandana. You'll learn how to create rich dye color and botanical contact prints using local plants such as sumac, goldenrod, oak, and black walnut. While your printed bandana is steaming (the final step in the printing process) I will review the fundamentals of fabric preparation for dyeing, and how to choose local plants for your dye pot and prints. You will go home with your printed bandana and the knowledge to continue your own dye practice.

All materials will be supplied, and tasty snacks will be provided.
