A beginner’s class in pine needle basketry, this workshop will teach you the basic coiling technique of weaving. You will be provided with a small, handmade ceramic bowl to which you will attach an edge embellishment of long leaf pine needles. All tools and supplies will be provided and a light brunch will be available. You will go home with a unique piece of functional art that combines two contrasting media, stoneware and weaving. All proceeds will be donated to the Long Leaf Alliance in Andalusia, Alabama, working to ensure a sustainable future for our precious and uniquely southeastern Long Leaf Pine forests.
